Purchasing our rice
At Against the Grain, we want to offer you the best experience when purchasing our product. Due to high shipping prices, we like to do our digging and find the best available option to get our product to you. For that reason, we do not have an online shop. Connect with us via email or phone and we will work to get you what you need as quickly and budget-friendly as possible!
We provide high quality harvesting and processing standards by maintaining TransCanada Organic Certification (TCO)
Broken Rice $11/kg
same great quality, just less cooking time! this rice is great for soups or casseroles and cooks up quickly!
medium $22/kg
our medium length wild rice is a beautiful addition to any plate. It has the 1:4 water ratio and 45-60 minute cook time. Enjoyed on it’s own with a little butter or added into a dish, this rice is a great purchase!
x-large $25/kg
the cream of the crop and our most prized harvest is the x-large and large wild rice. This length is in high demand and hard to keep in stock! Best to check in with us in october after harvest for availability.

Pictured on the left is a gorgeous patch of wild rice growing and looking not quite ready for harvest! The tips of the plant turn a little purple after they drop their flowers and become ready to harvest!
On the right is green wild rice that has been harvested and is ready for seeding or to be bagged and flown out to be taken to the rice plant!
